Curriculum development in higher education requires systematic alignment between graduate profiles, program learning outcomes, course structures, learning strategies, and assessment systems. Outcome Based Education (OBE) has become an important approach in strengthening curriculum quality because it emphasizes the achievement of measurable learning outcomes. This community service activity aimed to assist study programs at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Kalimantan Timur in developing curriculum documents based on OBE principles. The activity was conducted on 21–22 August 2025 and involved 10 study programs and 50 participants, consisting of university leaders, study program managers, lecturers, and curriculum development teams. The mentoring method consisted of needs assessment, conceptual reinforcement, curriculum document analysis, workshops, group discussions, guided practice, presentations, feedback, and follow-up planning. The results showed that participants gained a better understanding of the OBE framework, particularly in formulating graduate profiles, program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, curriculum mapping, learning strategies, and assessment alignment. The activity also encouraged study programs to review the coherence between learning outcomes and course structures. This community service contributed to strengthening the capacity of study programs in designing curriculum documents that are more structured, measurable, accountable, and responsive to higher education quality assurance. The mentoring activity also produced initial curriculum improvement drafts that can be further developed by each study program.
Muhammad Khairul Rijal

Vulnerable communities in Kombeng Indah Village face limitations in accessing development information, expressing aspirations, and participating in village development monitoring. These conditions may limit their role in promoting transparent and accountable village governance. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of vulnerable communities through social accountability training. The program addressed these issues by improving participants' knowledge and skills in accessing information, expressing aspirations, and participating in development monitoring. A participatory approach was employed through needs identification, interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, simulations, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. The program involved 20 participants, including women, youth, adolescents and children, and representatives of ethnic and religious groups. The results showed a 22% increase in participants' knowledge, along with improved abilities to identify development issues and formulate aspirations systematically. The program demonstrates that participatory training can serve as an initial strategy for strengthening the capacity of vulnerable communities to participate in village development in a more inclusive and accountable manner.
Zulkadrin Zulkadrin

The management of the body in Islam is a collective obligation (fardu kifayah) that must be carried out by Muslims. If some Muslims have carried it out, then the obligation is lost from others. However, if no one carries it out, this obligation remains the responsibility of the Muslim community in the environment. This community service activity aims to improve public understanding and skills about the concept of fardu kifayah and the procedures for the handling of the body in Islam which include bathing, shrouding, blaming and burying the body in accordance with Islamic law. The activity was carried out in Sri Pantun Village, Kombeng District, East Kutai Regency, with a participatory approach through counseling, discussion, simulation, and direct practice. Evaluation was carried out through observation of participant involvement, questions and answers, discussions, and practices of organizing the body. The results of the activity showed a positive response and active involvement of the community in following the materials and practices. Participants showed courage and confidence in following the stages of organizing the funeral and increasingly understood that the funeral arrangement is a shared responsibility as part of the obligation of fardu kifayah. This activity shows that educational approaches and direct practice can be a relevant strategy in increasing the capacity of the community in organizing the funeral while strengthening socio-religious awareness at the village level.
Arman Afrilia SyahrirAhamd FaisalNur Khaeriyah TiroYurike Pratiska SariAnggra PrimaMuhammad Imam Syafi'i

The diversity of communities in Kaliorang District represents a social asset that should be strengthened through multicultural and religious moderation values. However, preliminary observations indicated that students had limited opportunities to participate in contextual learning activities integrating these values outside the school environment. This community service program aimed to enhance students' understanding, tolerance, and collaborative skills by utilizing Marang Beach as a contextual learning space. The program employed a Participatory Learning approach consisting of needs assessment, participatory planning, educational sessions, interactive discussions, case studies, question-and-answer sessions, reflection, and evaluation. The participants were 42 students representing six junior and senior secondary schools in Kaliorang District. The results demonstrated increased student participation, improved understanding of multiculturalism and religious moderation, stronger mutual respect, more inclusive communication, and better collaboration among students from different schools. Furthermore, the use of Marang Beach as a contextual educational setting provided meaningful learning experiences that contributed to strengthening students' character. These findings indicate that a local potential-based Participatory Learning approach is an effective model for promoting multicultural values and religious moderation among students.
Andi Muhammad Raihan ZakariaIstianah MahmudahZamri Muhaimin NurFirdaus Firdaus
